Namicos Featured on Popular Japanese Television Show For Creating A Women-Friendly Workplace Environment

We are delighted to announce that Namicos has been recognized by the Shiga Prefectural Government and featured on their popular internet television program for our efforts to create a women-friendly workplace environment.

Based on multiple interviews with current employees at our Shiga Plant, the television program highlighted the following three points that they feel make Namicos a Women-Friendly workplace:

  1. Collaborative, pleasant and highly clean environment
  2. An established, flexible staffing-scheduling system that enables employees to take time off of work with ease when they face sudden or unexpected childcare responsibilities
  3. An in-house nursery school to support employees with young children

Although the video is available only in Japanese, our global clients may find the “behind the scenes” glimpse of our Shiga Plant facilities interesting. You can view the program here.

The majority of our Shiga Plant personnel (over 90%) is comprised of women who work on our team of highly-qualified pharmaceutical packaging visual quality Inspectors.

“At first, I felt some hesitation about working in the manufacturing industry,” said Ms. Nakano, a Visual Inspector at Namicos who recently re-entered the workforce after maternity leave, “but the extensive personnel training courses and internal licensing system at Namicos ensures that all new employees are equipped with the skills they need to perform the job. Only after I master the training and pass a rigorous test could I qualify for the Namicos Internal license and be perform visual inspections. This system gave me confidence and know-how to perform my work well.”

Ms. Fujiwara, another Visual Inspector who also recently returned to workforce after maternity leave, cited the Namicos in-house nursery school as a primary motivating factor for her to join the Namicos Team. “At first I was nervous about going back to work, but I had the warm support of my colleagues who coached me on all aspects of my job. And, if my children become sick and I need some time off of work, both they and Namicos will support me.”
